December 19, during the live finale of NBC's "The Voice," the indie pop sensation AJR took the stage, delivering a performance that was as captivating as it was dynamic. They performed a medley of their hits "Yes I'm A Mess" and “Bang!” from their latest album "Maybe Man," released on November 10. This performance featured AJR's signature blend of pop, electronic, and indie music.

The medley commenced with Adam, Ryan, and Jack, accompanied by a live band, setting the stage for a narrative-driven showcase. It began with Jack's life unfolding before the audience, as he literally walked them through the chaos of his life with lyrics like, "I leave my house at 3 o'clock / With two hundred texts and two missed calls..." This was followed by introspective lines such as, "Why should I fix the shit I've done / When I could just pack my shit and run?" The segment culminated in the chorus: "Yes, I'm a mess with an S on my chest / I could hate my guts when the sun comes up / But I guess that's what this is / I like myself like this."

The mood then shifted as AJR transitioned to "Bang!," energizing the audience with the refrain: "Let's go out with a bang! / Bang! Bang! Bang!" And indeed, they did just that. The full performance can be viewed below.

Notably, the finale also featured other musical guests, including Tyla, who performed a medley of "Truth or Dare"/"Water," and Teddy Swims with soulful "Lose Control".
