Blackpink unveiled a new trailer for their upcoming virtual concert, BLACKPINK: A VR Encore.
This 70-minute concert special, in partnership with Meta, is scheduled to premiere for free in VR on December 26 at 5 p.m. PT in Meta Music Valley. Fans eager to experience this unique event can RSVP on the event page. For those unable to attend the live premiere, replays will be available until the end of January in Meta Horizon Worlds following the concert.
The event promises to offer fans a virtual experience of the final show of their extensive Born Pink world tour, held in Seoul, South Korea. The Diamond Bros have taken on the production and direction of this event, which will feature Blackpink's performance at the Gocheok Sky Dome.
“Filming our upcoming VR concert in the heart of Seoul has added an extra layer of magic to this project. It’s where it all began for us, and being able to share this unique experience with our fans around the world feels incredibly special,” Blackpink stated in a press release. “It’s great to break down geographical barriers with The Diamond Bros and Meta, bringing the memory of the ‘BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK]’ finale straight into your home.” YG Entertainment, the group's management company, described the tour as the “largest world tour in the history of a K-pop girl group.”
The concert is set to include popular tracks such as “Shut Down,” “Pink Venom,” and “How You Like That.”
In August, members Rosé, Jennie, Jisoo, and Lisa celebrated their seventh anniversary together, sharing heartfelt messages on social media to commemorate the occasion. “Thank you, thank you, and thank you a thousand times,” Rosé wrote in a tribute. “My heart is so full. I cannot express my gratitude enough for every single person who has been a part of this seven-year journey with us four.”
