Halsey’s fifth studio album The Great Impersonator, a deeply introspective concept record, drops on October 25 with pre-orders available now on her official website.
alsey has officially announced her fifth studio album, The Great Impersonator, set for release on October 25, 2024. The announcement, shared on her social media, comes with a deeply personal message: “I made this record in the space between life and death. And it feels like I’ve waited an eternity for you to have it. I’ll wait a bit longer. I’ve waited a decade, already.” This album marks her first major release since If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power in 2021.
The Great Impersonator is described as a "confessional concept album," where Halsey explores different timelines, imagining how her music might have evolved had she debuted in earlier decades like the '70s, '80s, or 2000s. In previous teasers, she reflects on her journey, asking profound questions like, “Am I still Halsey every time, in every timeline? Do I become a mom? Am I happy?” These existential musings underscore the thematic depth of the album, as Halsey contemplates identity, illness, and the passage of time.
Leading up to the album, she has released several singles, including "The End," "Lucky," and "Lonely Is the Muse," with another track, "Ego," scheduled to drop on September 6. Fans have been especially engaged with the album's rollout, which included a global scavenger hunt to reveal the album’s cover art in major cities around the world.
The Great Impersonator is now available for pre-order, offering fans various formats, including vinyl and CD options. With its personal themes and reflective nature, this album is poised to be one of Halsey’s most introspective and profound projects to date.
