Jennifer Lopez's 'Can't Get Enough' blends vibrant beats with a witty video that playfully nods to her past marriages.
Jennifer Lopez has unveiled her latest single, "Can't Get Enough," along with its music video, marking the debut release from her forthcoming album "This Is Me... Now," set to launch on February 16. The dynamic track features Lopez's vocals with engaging lyrics like "When it feels right/Nothing else matters/Is this real life?/Too good to be true... I'm still in love with you."
In the video, Lopez humorously addresses her own romantic history. Directed by Dave Meyers, it begins with a rain-soaked wedding, where guests lightly jest about her rapid transitions into love and marriage. The video portrays Lopez in various wedding dresses, dancing with Derek Hough, a judge from "Dancing with the Stars," and two other grooms, reflecting her real-life multiple marriages. During a bouquet toss scene, one guest humorously inquires, "Third time's the charm?" while another playfully warns, "Don't catch it! It's cursed."
The video reaches its climax in a scene akin to couples therapy, where her fictional spouses voice their frustrations, underscoring issues like her lack of attention and work-centric focus.
Lopez, currently married to Ben Affleck, has been married three times previously: to Ojani Noa, Cris Judd, and Marc Anthony. "Can't Get Enough" is a vibrant track that cleverly incorporates lyrics from Alton Ellis' "I'm Still in Love With You," which gained fame in its 2002 cover by Sean Paul and Sasha. The song was collaboratively written and produced by Lopez with Rogét Chahayed, HitBoy, and Jeff “Hitty” Gitelman, and includes contributions from Prince Chrishan, Drew Love, Angel Lopez, and INK.
Last summer, Lopez hinted at the album's completion with a social media post, followed by a series of album cover reveals in November. This album, her first under the Nuyorican partnership with BMG and her first since 2014's "A.K.A.," includes tracks like “I Luh Ya Papi” with French Montana and “Booty” with Pitbull.
"This Is Me… Now" is described as a deeply personal project for Lopez, reflecting on her life over the past two decades. The album is set to offer a mix of confessional songs and reflections on Lopez's challenging childhood, past relationships, and her personal growth, illustrating her transformation both as an artist and an individual.
