The highly anticipated album 'Vultures' by Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, and Ty Dolla $ign, is now set to be released on January 12th, after a recent change in its launch schedule.
Ye formerly known as Kanye West, and Ty Dolla $ign missed the initial release date for their collaborative album 'Vultures' this past Friday (Dec. 15). However, Ye's spokesperson informed Billboard of a new release date. Initially promised for a New Year’s Eve release on Dec. 31, 'Vultures' has seen its launch date pushed back to Jan. 12, as confirmed by Ye's representatives.
In recent weeks, 'Vultures' has been a central topic in the music industry, particularly due to Ye's contentious comments and a series of issues regarding song clearances. The track “Everybody,” featuring a sample from the Backstreet Boys' 1999 classic “Backstreet's Back,” reportedly failed to secure clearance. Additionally, Nicki Minaj recently turned down Ye's request to clear their 2018 joint track “New Body.” Addressing a text from Ye during an Instagram Live session, Minaj commented, “As for Kanye, that ship has sailed, OK? No offense, but I've just released a new album. Why would I release a track that's been around for three years? Let's be realistic.”
Ye responded to Minaj’s rejection at a 'Vultures' listening party, remarking, “I made that girl rewrite her verse three times for ‘Monster.’ I supported her career.” At the same listening party, Ye embarked on a lengthy discourse, name-dropping several celebrities, including Jay-Z, Drake, Travis Scott, and Donald Trump. He said, “Who you think the old man call? When we put Drake on stage, who you think the old man call? You know what I’m saying. Drake, this is what you been waiting for. Jay-Z, this is what you been waiting for. Adidas, this is what you been waiting for. Kim, this is what you been waiting for.”
