FC Barcelona and The Rolling Stones collaborate to feature the band's iconic Tongue and Lips logo on Barça jerseys for the El Clásico match on October 28. The partnership also includes a special edition of the Stones' new album 'Hackney Diamonds' and a curated Spotify playlist for matchday.

In a move that's as audacious as a Keith Richards guitar riff, FC Barcelona and The Rolling Stones have announced a collaboration that's set to reverberate across the worlds of music and sports. The iconic Tongue and Lips logo of The Rolling Stones will replace the Spotify logo on the legendary FC Barcelona kit, a garment that's as much a cultural artifact as it is a piece of sports equipment. This seismic shift in branding will debut in the El Clásico match against Real Madrid on October 28, and it's not just a one-off. The logo will also grace the women's jersey for a Liga F game against Sevilla on November 5.

The timing was no accident. The Rolling Stones released their first album of original material in 18 years, "Hackney Diamonds," on October 20. The album served as the linchpin for this collaboration, a long-awaited return for the band that's being celebrated in a truly global fashion. FC Barcelona, a club that has its own storied history and global following, became a stage for the Stones, a band that has played every iconic venue you can think of but never a soccer field—until now.

Spotify, the music streaming giant, served as the intermediary in this groundbreaking partnership. The company curated a "Matchday Playlist" featuring rock music tracks, including, of course, some of the Stones' signature tunes. It's a playlist designed to get fans pumped, whether they're in the stadium or streaming the game from thousands of miles away.

But the collaboration didn't stop at jerseys and playlists. On October 23, exclusive matchday jersey editions went on sale, offering fans a tangible piece of this historic partnership. The lifestyle collection extended beyond the pitch, featuring clothing items like t-shirts, bucket hats, and hoodies adorned with the logos of the Rolling Stones, Spotify, and Barça. It was a limited edition run, making each piece a collector's item.

In a nod to the club's colors, a special blaugrana edition of "Hackney Diamonds" was also released. This package included the album in vinyl, printed with the Barça crest and the Stones' Tongue and Lips logo, plus a Barça retro jersey inspired by the fashion of the early 1960s when the band formed.

The Rolling Stones expressed their excitement, stating, "We're huge football fans and honored that Spotify brought our Tongue & Lips logo to grace the FC Barcelona shirt to celebrate the release of the Stones' new 'Hackney Diamonds' album. We're cheering on the players on the pitch as well as fans around the world."

Juli Guiu, FC Barcelona Marketing Area Vice-president, echoed the sentiment, "Bringing together two icons - The Rolling Stones logo and the Barça jersey - is a special moment for our fans around the world. Music and football form a special partnership with a long future ahead of them."

This collaboration is more than just a marketing stunt; it's a cultural moment, a snapshot of how music and sports can come together to create something greater than the sum of their parts. Whether you're a fan of the Stones, Barça, or both, this is a moment to savor.
