London to Pristina: A Bicultural Upbringing
Dua Lipa was born in London on August 22, 1995 to Albanian parents from Kosovo, her first name meaning love in her family's language. The household ran on music; her father, Dukagjin, played in a rock band, and their home hummed with everything from Balkan folk to hip-hop.
