Post Malone Performs 'Austin' 2023

Austin Richard Post, professionally known as Post Malone, was born on July 4, 1995, in Syracuse, New York, and raised in Dallas, Texas. His early exposure to a diverse range of music, influenced by his father and the video game Guitar Hero, played a significant role in shaping his musical style. Malone's initial foray into music saw him experimenting with different styles, eventually leading him to blend rap with pop and rock elements. His decision to become an MC was influenced by the Terror Squad's hit "Lean Back," and he began his journey in the music world in Dallas with the IRAS crew. His move to Los Angeles marked a significant turning point in his career. Here, he adopted the moniker "Post Malone" and created the track "White Iverson," which became a viral hit in early 2015, amassing a million views within a month and leading to his signing with Republic Records later that year.

In 2016, Malone released his debut mixtape, "August 26th," followed by his first studio album, "Stoney." The album, featuring a range of guest artists including Justin Bieber and Quavo, peaked at number four on the Billboard 200 and achieved multi-platinum certification. His sophomore album, "Beerbongs & Bentleys," released in 2018, further solidified his status in the music industry. It included the chart-topping singles "Rockstar" with 21 Savage and "Psycho" with Ty Dolla $ign, both achieving multi-platinum status.

Post Malone's third album, "Hollywood's Bleeding," released in 2019, showcased a pop-smart shift in his production. It included the global hit "Sunflower" with Swae Lee from the "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" soundtrack, which became one of the highest-certified singles in RIAA history. The album, featuring a diverse range of collaborators, topped the Billboard 200 for several weeks and included "Circles," his fourth Hot 100 chart-topper.

In 2020 and 2021, Malone focused on guest appearances and solo work, including a cover for the Pokémon 25 album. His fourth album, "Twelve Carat Toothache," released in 2022, delved into the pressures of fame and fortune, featuring artists like Doja Cat and the Kid Laroi. The album included hits like "Cooped Up" with Roddy Ricch. Following this, he released "The Diamond Collection," a compilation of hits.

In 2023, Post Malone released his fifth studio album, "Austin," marking a full realization of his guitar-based influences. The album, featuring the pop-punk-leaning single "Chemical," showcased Malone's versatility and his ability to seamlessly blend genres. This album represents a culmination of his musical evolution, highlighting his unique vocal delivery, introspective lyrics, and diverse influences ranging from Tim McGraw to Kanye West. As of 2024, Post Malone continues to innovate and influence the musical landscape, solidifying his status as a versatile and enduring artist.
