Biche Releases Fresh And Pop Single 'Déja-Vu'

After more than three years of studio work, experimentation, and reflection on the sonic identity of Biche, Alexis Fugain, Thomas Subiranin, Alexis Croisé, Brice Lenoble, and Florian Adrien have leveraged their individual experiences as performers, composers, and producers to return with a second album. This new work gradually breaks away from the ethereal, library-music style of "La Nuit des Perséides," in favor of a more urgent, sometimes more electronic sound.

"Déjà-Vu" is the new single from the band Biche, an ode to memories and the "madeleines de Proust" of our childhoods and adolescences. This track, tinged with a 90s aesthetic, subtly evokes the musical influences of Stereolab and Beck.

The embroidered and repetitive rhythmic patterns around which the frantic guitar and synthesizer sounds revolve draw as much from 70s krautrock as from 90s indie-pop. Still sung in French, the voice asserts itself and becomes central, highlighting lyrics that often deal with the recurrence of things, continuing the themes of "Discipline," released in 2020.
