Chloe Tang returns with her second single of the year, “OPTIONS”. The Phoenix based artist is wasting no time doubling down on the ultra-confidence she boasted in her last track “2.0”. OPTIONS hits immediately with a futuristic, sexy, beat almost of industrial force. Abrasive and synth heavy, but with enough feminine lure to keep you locked in from start to finish. Starting with the first lyric: “see you staring at me, I know you like what you see.” In OPTIONS, Chloe finds herself in the (typically messy) situation of being attracted to multiple people at once.

That is, until the pre-chorus; where she suggests that there’s nothing wrong with having options. “I like a nice boy, someone who can open the door. I like a bad bitch, one who wants to fuck on the floor. Go on, give me every dollar in your bank account, you can try to hold me down but I just want all of the options.” This hook is a refreshing take on having multiple partners, a social concept that women are so often shamed for. Instead, Chloe claims it proudly, giving this track a dominant energy that is vogue and contagious.

The lyrics are in an unapologetic tone Chloe often employs. Feeling herself to the maximum level, gloating as she riffs, “got a line down the block tryna wife me, I don’t blame ‘em cause I’m so exciting.” This song is for the sexually confident, the bold lovers, or those just on the cusp of sexual exploration. Chloe takes this moment to let her fans know that having options and seeing beauty in so many people is only a problem if you let it be. The “na na na’s” that follow the hook provide a perfect dance break for the inevitable rush of self-love you’ll feel- reminiscent of early Britney Spears with a snake charmer color similar to Beyonce’s Naughty Girl. It's not the first ime this edgy pop/r&b girl takes notes from early 2000’s pop, working it into her own music. Chloe has frequently credited artists like Avril Lavigne, JoJo, and Blink-182 as her biggest inspirations. Even if OPTIONS is the first track you’ve heard from her, those inspirations audibly shine through. The “zero fucks given”and “I’m hot and I know it” energy on this track is about as punk as pop gets.

OPTIONS releases everywhere March 8th.

About:

Writing music for more than half her life, Chloe Tang’s untapped potential was showcased when she opened a 4,000 cap room for pop superstar, Dua Lipa in 2018 in a venue she had worked security at just months prior. Since this full circle moment, Chloe has been writing and performing music in Los Angeles working independently with some of the biggest up and coming writers/producers like Johan Lenox, Shawn Wasabi, and Chizzy. Between the emotionally-liberating anthems, and the sultry, often dark side of life as a creative; Chloe jokes her music says: “love me, but leave me alone”. With no label, Chloe’s catalog has amassed over 8 million streams with plenty of music still on the way. She is also dedicated to advocacy for Asian-Americans, and routinely nods to her Chinese roots in her brand.
