Multi-platinum singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Daniel Seavey has released “Blame It On You” - available now via Atlantic Records. The new single continues to expand his debut solo album Second Wind, following the release of “Eden” last month. The project, executive produced by chart-topping writer/producer Michael Pollack (Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber), pulls from Seavey’s ultimate early-aughts pop-rock inspirations while exuding optimistic warmth, introspective lyrics and ultimate creative freedom.

Second Wind marked a multi-year creative journey, seeing Seavey craft his solo voice and evolving into the artist he was destined to be. Upon release Billboard declared “his journey is just getting started” while PAPER celebrated “against all odds, Seavey is back to making and sharing his music again.” The project arrived following performances on some of the biggest stages of his solo career, including a festival debut at Lollapalooza which became amongst the most viral sets of the weekend. Seavey also spent much of recent years on the road supporting Benson Boone in the US/UK and Dean Lewis across a widely successful Australia/New Zealand tour during which he previewed the album in real-time including fast fan-favorites including “Sleeping With The Lights On,”  “Gateway Drug,” “The Older You Get” and “Other People.”

This past spring saw Seavey embark on his international headline Second Wind Tour, with sold-out stops including The Novo in Los Angeles and Irving Plaza in New York City. He resumes headline performances this weekend in Australia & New Zealand, with new and rescheduled European dates announced for November. Seavey recently sat with ABC News’ Megan Ryte for an inspiring Nightline profile interview (watch here) recapping his near-decade long career through varying industry molds and frameworks. In 2016, Seavey co-founded Why Don’t We and embarked upon an unbelievable six-year journey highlighted by over 6 billion global career streams, two RIAA Platinum-certified singles, five RIAA Gold-certified singles, two Top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 chart, and sold out tours with multiple stops at legendary venues such as Radio City Music Hall and more. However by 2022, Seavey was amidst one of the most trying and turbulent periods of his life: weathering family health struggles, professional tumult, and the death of a close friend. The material he wrote and recorded during this time ultimately became 2023’s Dancing In The Dark EP, introducing himself as a solo artist despite ongoing legal restraints keeping his creative ownership in jeopardy. The project has amassed over 90 million streams, anchored by “I Tried” (which was named among The Best Songs of 2023 So Far by Rolling Stone), “Can We Pretend That We’re Good?” and “Runaway.” The explosive self-penned/produced songs were deemed “punchy and experimental” by Billboard, while Rolling Stone further praised Seavey for his “impeccable production skills, stellar vocals, and personal artistry.” Simultaneously, he embarked on a sold-out 17-show headline tour, premiering new music and dynamic covers for fans across the country.

2025 sees Seavey emerge a free artist at his brightest, boldest, and most brilliant. Channeling the spirit of early-aughts pop and rock from a 22nd century perspective, he leaves no stone unturned, writing, playing multiple instruments, and overseeing arrangements, production and mixing. In doing so, he presents an inimitable and irresistible sound all his own.
