Heart of Texas Records proudly announces the release of ‘Thanks A Lot Texas Troubadour: A Tribute To Ernest Tubb’ and ‘Floyd Tillman: The Influence’ through StarVista Music. These albums honor the legacies of Country Music Hall of Fame members Ernest Tubb and Floyd Tillman, whose influence continues to shape country music.
The tribute to Ernest Tubb features timeless classics performed by an outstanding lineup of artists, including Tony Booth, Johnny Bush, Curtis Potter, and special guests like George Jones and Dolly Parton. Known for his generosity and unwavering support for fellow artists, Tubb's music has echoed through Texas dance halls and beyond for generations.
"Ernest Tubb was one of the most generous artists in Country Music," said Tracy Pitcox, President of Heart of Texas Records. "His songs have been staples in Texas dance halls, sung by legends and honky-tonk bands alike. Although I never had the chance to see him live, this project is my way of honoring what he meant to fans worldwide."
‘Floyd Tillman: The Influence’ showcases the hits of Floyd Tillman, whose natural talent for crafting hits has inspired countless entertainers. Featuring recordings with country legends like Merle Haggard, Ray Price, Dolly Parton, and Willie Nelson—Tillman’s most dedicated admirer—the album is a testament to his lasting impact. Tillman, who once said songwriting came "as natural as having babies," never realized the full extent of his influence, focusing instead on creating and sharing his songs with fans.
"Willie Nelson, Floyd Tillman's biggest fan, eagerly joined Floyd’s final recording session, which included friends like Merle Haggard, Ray Price, and Dolly Parton," added Pitcox.
Both albums celebrate the unique artistry of Tubb and Tillman, bringing together an impressive array of performers who breathe new life into these timeless songs. ‘Thanks A Lot Texas Troubadour’ and ‘Floyd Tillman: The Influence’ are available now, inviting fans to rediscover the sounds that defined country music's golden era.
