Montazona has released ‘New Waves,’ now available on all major streaming platforms. Following the success of the sophomore album ‘Butterfly’, this new release showcases the Montazona’s evolution towards a louder, more in-your-face electronic rock sound. The song is a not-so-subtle criticism of trend culture, highlighting how fleeting feelings of enjoyment are in today’s world. With lyrics like ‘Do we have to change everything, just to see it go?’ supported by catchy basslines, upbeat drums, and hopeful but melancholic harmony, the song brings a feeling of surface level joy, with an underlying deeper issue.
“‘New Waves’ is my reaction to moving to Los Angeles and being shocked at the speed with which things move here. I like to take my time and be thoughtful in almost every aspect of my life so it was a big adjustment for me. Everything in music, fashion, art, and even regular life is a trend here and there always has to be something new right now every single day. For someone like me, it gets to be overwhelming. That's what ‘New Waves’ is. I tried to make it upbeat and ‘trendy’ while getting my over-thought point across. I guess my goal with the song would be to encourage people to appreciate the things that they like because they like them, not because it's cool right now or because anyone else likes it.”
‘New Waves’ explores a more polished pop sound while fusing Montazona’s core electronic, psychedelic, and rock elements together in a way that resonates with fans of indie music.
Listen to ‘New Waves’ now on Spotify, Apple Music and all other streaming platforms.
