Hailing from Glasgow, The Red Lite District, a formidable four-piece punk ensemble, releases atmospheric new EP 'Static Silence'.

This new EP, produced by Andy Miller (known for his work with Mogwai and De Rosa) at Gargleblast Studios in Hamilton, Scotland, marks a longstanding collaboration between Miller and The Red Lite District, having recorded six releases together.

The EP features five tracks:

1. Outside

2. False Alarm

3. Fever

4. Turning the Screw

5. Walk On

In this release, The Red Lite District expands their sound with broader and slower arrangements, building on the foundation laid by their previous EP, 'Pleasureland.' The new collection delves into swirling atmospheric sounds, creating an 'ambient-post-punk' landscape. This is exemplified in the track 'Fever,' which, while concise in language and meaning, is expansive in depth.

'Outside,' which peaked at #7 on the GLOBAL TOP 50 ROCK AIRPLAY CHART, channels a more straightforward alternative rock vibe, reminiscent of Nirvana at their most energetic and self-destructive. 'Turning the Screw' maintains a similar aesthetic with its pure punk rock energy, evoking the spirit of a 1990s Green Day anthem. The punk energy continues with 'False Alarm,' a 2020s take on a 1970s punk classic. The EP concludes with 'Walk On,' an off-piste post-punk track that meanders through a gothic landscape with dreamlike guitars, whimsical chord shifts, and rhythmic movements.

His adept finger-picking bass style forms a unique foundation for many of the band's compositions.
