Early Life and Background

Troye Sivan Mellet, known professionally as Troye Sivan, was born on June 5, 1995, in Johannesburg, South Africa. His family relocated to Perth, Australia, when he was two years old. Sivan grew up in a Jewish family with three siblings and attended Carmel School, a private Modern Orthodox school in Perth. From an early age, Sivan exhibited a passion for performing arts, participating in local theater productions and showing a keen interest in music.

Rise to Fame

Sivan’s first taste of fame came through YouTube, where he began posting videos in 2007. His channel featured a mix of vlogs, cover songs, and original content, quickly gaining a substantial following. His breakthrough in the entertainment industry, however, occurred in 2007 when he was cast as the young Wolverine in the film "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" (2009). Sivan also starred in the "Spud" film series, based on the popular South African novels.

Sivan’s music career took off with the release of his first extended play (EP), "TRXYE," in August 2014. The EP debuted at number 5 on the Billboard 200 chart, with the lead single "Happy Little Pill" receiving critical acclaim.
